2017 Teen Show Review
The 2017 Fine Arts League of Cary Annual (FALC) Teen Show holds an opening reception on Sunday, May 7 at the the Gaddy Hamrick gallery at Meredith College from 1 PM to 3PM. The awards ceremony begins at 2 PM.
This show is for students in all Wake county high schools, both public and private. Art teachers from the schools select work from their students to enter. Each school can submit five pieces including three dimensional works.
FALC awards cash prizes of $100 for first place, $75 for second and $50 for third. Each winner's teacher is also awarded a matching amount to purchase supplies for their schools.
Meredith College also awards three young ladies to receive $1000 scholarships. Jerry's Artarama awards three $50 gift certificates as prizes for honorable mention, one for a photography category, one for a three-dimensional category and one for a digital art work.
The exhibit runs until May 24.
There is no charge for admission and it is open to the public.
2016 Teen Show Review
A very special 'Thank You!' goes to show chair Brenda Brokke, show judges Sharon and Joe DiGuilio and photographer Tom McKee. The Fine Arts League of Cary provided the refreshments.

This year's winners included:
First prize - City Market by Corbin Barefoot, Millbrook High School (Teacher: Jan Johnston)
received $100 from FALC, $100 for the school art department and a gift certificate from Jerry's Artarama.
Second prize - Destruction by Julia McGillicuddy, Cardinal Gibbons High School (Teacher: Rebecca Dason)
received $75 from FALC, $75 for the school art department and a gift certificate from Jerry's Artarama.
Third prize - Cut and Paste by Silvia Chaboneux, Athens High School (Teacher: Farrell Hilton)
$50 from FALC and $50 for the school art department, and a gift certificate from Jerry's Artarama.
Jerry's Artarama Honorable Mention Awards went to:

Our wonderful hosts, Meredith College awarded three scholarships. Each scholarship is a $1000 Art Scholarship.

Exhibition runs from May 8 to May 25
Opening reception for artists, families. friends and teachers is open to the public. May 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

High school students attending Wake County public and private high schools. Artwork must be submitted through the schools' art teachers. Each teacher may submit four pieces.
Two-dimensional art must be matted. All pieces must be securely wired and ready to hang. Work must not exceed 40 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 40 pounds.
First Place: $100
Second Place: $75
Third Place: $50
Matching funds will be awarded to the art departments of the winners' high schools.
Meredith College will award three, $1,000 scholarships.
